What inspired you to create this private training gym?

Basic Training PFC was born out of a desire to create a space where independent trainers could thrive without the limitations of commercial gyms. I saw a gap in the industry—many talented trainers struggled to find a facility that allowed them to train their clients on their terms, without excessive fees or restrictions. I wanted to build a gym that empowered trainers to run their businesses successfully while providing clients with a top-tier training environment.

Describe the training experience in three words.

Empowering. Effective. Community-driven.

How does your gym cater specifically to personal trainers and their clients?

Unlike commercial gyms, we don’t take a cut from trainers’ earnings. We use a flat hourly rate or a monthly unlimited charge to cover the gym rental. Trainers have full autonomy over their business, scheduling, and pricing. We also provide high-quality equipment, a professional environment, and a community of like-minded fitness professionals. It’s a place where trainers can focus on their clients without worrying about gym politics or overcrowding.

What is the number one fitness myth you wish people would stop believing?

That lifting weights makes you bulky overnight. Strength training is one of the best ways to improve body composition, boost metabolism, and enhance overall health—without turning into a bodybuilder unless that’s your goal.

Can you share a success story that truly inspired you?

We’ve had trainers start with just one or two clients and grow into full-time businesses with packed schedules. One trainer, in particular, came to us struggling to find a stable training location. Within a year, he built a six-figure training business by leveraging our space and community. 

From a client side; my client Adam G. This guy lost 420 lbs and gained a whole new life. So proud of his dedication and sacrifice it took to change his behavior to be able to achieve such a monumental goal. 

Favorite piece of equipment and why?

Probably the squat rack. It’s one of the most versatile pieces of equipment—whether it’s for strength training, mobility work, or functional movements, it’s a staple for any serious training program.

Underrated nutrition tip?

Prioritize protein at every meal. It keeps you full longer, supports muscle growth, and plays a huge role in fat loss.

Most rewarding part of running a private training facility? Biggest challenge?

Seeing trainers succeed and grow their businesses is incredibly rewarding. The biggest challenge is costs.  Rising rents and cost of living is pushing the price of personal training to new highs.  Although rewarding to command a high rate, it becomes challenging for clients to maintain consistency.

A trainer saves you time, ensures you’re training efficiently and safely, and helps you achieve your goals faster. It’s an investment in your long-term health and fitness.

How does Basic Training PFC help trainers establish or expand their businesses?

By providing a professional environment, networking opportunities, and a flexible space where they can build their brand and clientele without limitations.

Biggest mistake people make when trying to achieve fitness goals?

Not being consistent. The best program in the world won’t work if you don’t stick with it.

Advice for aspiring personal trainers?

Focus on building relationships, keep learning, and understand that results and referrals are your best marketing tools.

Fat loss, muscle gain, and improved performance. We tailor training by focusing on individualized programs, proper nutrition, and accountability.

Mindset is everything. If you believe in the process and stay mentally strong, your physical results will follow. We encourage resilience through goal setting and accountability.

Knowledge, communication skills, and the ability to motivate.

Watching a trainer go from struggling to making a full-time income and building a thriving business.

Handling challenges or setbacks?

Adaptability is key. Whether it’s economic shifts or unexpected obstacles, staying flexible and focused on solutions keeps the gym moving forward.
