Interviewer:
Devin, thank you for joining us today! Let’s start with the big question: What inspired you to get into fitness?
Devin:
Honestly, it all started in January 2024. I was in a tough place—dealing with the loss of family members, bad breakups, and just feeling completely directionless. Fitness became my outlet, my way of taking control when everything felt out of my hands.
Interviewer:
That’s powerful. A lot of people struggle to take that first step. How did you find the motivation to stick with it?
Devin:
I stay motivated by looking back at the old me. I didn’t like who I was, and I never want to be that person again. I remind myself of how far I’ve come and how much better I feel now. And, okay, as lame as it might sound, part of me loves the idea of being unrecognizable to my exes. It’s like, “You don’t even know this version of me!
Interviewer:
That’s not lame at all! Sometimes the best motivation comes from wanting to prove something to yourself or others. How has fitness transformed your life beyond just your physical health?
Devin:
It’s done wonders for my self-esteem. I’ve become more disciplined, not just in fitness but in life. Working out taught me to set goals and stick to them. Plus, it’s hard to fall back into bad habits when you know how much effort it takes to undo progress.
Interviewer:
You’ve clearly built some strong habits. Where do you like to work out? Do you have a favorite spot?
Devin:
I mix it up! I love working out at parks—there’s something about being outdoors that feels freeing. I also work out at home and, of course, Gold’s Gym in Glendale. That place has such great energy!
Interviewer:
Glendale is lucky to have you as a local fitness motivator! What advice would you give to someone struggling with low self-esteem and looking to start their fitness journey?
Devin:
Start small, but start today. Don’t wait for motivation to strike—take action, even if it’s just a 10-minute walk or a few push-ups at home. Also, remember why you’re doing it. For me, it’s about becoming someone I’m proud of and leaving the old me behind. You can do the same.
Interviewer:
What’s your ultimate goal for your fitness journey, both for yourself and for the people you want to inspire?
Devin:
Personally, I want to keep pushing my limits, stay lean, and live a healthy life. For others, I want to show that it’s possible to transform your life. I’d love to grow a community here in Glendale of people who are ready to change their lives through fitness. Together, we can support each other and stay motivated.
Interviewer:
That’s inspiring, Devin! Last question: If you could describe your fitness journey in one sentence, what would it be?
Devin:
Hmm… “From pain to power—fitness turned my struggles into strength, and now I’m unstoppable.”
Interviewer:
Amazing! Thank you, Devin, for sharing your story. You’re going to inspire so many people.
Conclusion
Devin’s journey is proof that transformation starts with a single step—and a commitment to never looking back.
Whether you’re just starting out or need a boost to stay consistent, Devin is here to inspire, motivate, and remind you that anything is possible with focus and determination.
