Glendale Police to Conduct DUI Checkpoint on March 28, 2025
Glendale, CA – The Glendale Police Department has announced it will be conducting a DUI checkpoint on Friday, March 28, 2025, from 6:00 p.m. to 2:00 a.m. at an undisclosed location within city limits.

The checkpoint aims to identify and remove impaired drivers from the road in an effort to protect public safety. Locations for DUI checkpoints are strategically selected based on collision data and areas with a history of DUI-related crashes.
“Impaired drivers put others on the road at significant risk,” said Glendale Police Sergeant Ryan Gunn. “Any prevention measures that reduce the number of impaired drivers on our roads significantly improve traffic safety.”
The department also reminds drivers that impairment doesn’t just stem from alcohol. Certain prescription medications, over-the-counter drugs, and cannabis products—even if used legally—can impair driving and result in a DUI.
A Costly Consequence
Being charged with a first-time DUI in California can result in fines and penalties averaging $13,500, along with a license suspension and other legal consequences.
This enforcement effort is funded by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety, through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).
The Glendale Police Department encourages all drivers to make safe choices: plan ahead, use a designated driver, and never get behind the wheel impaired.
