Man Fatally Shot Near Glendale Strip Mall; Suspect in Custody
GLENDALE, Calif. – A man was fatally shot near a Glendale strip mall on Saturday afternoon, with police swiftly taking a suspect into custody later that night.
Incident Details
The shooting took place around 3 p.m. in the 500 block of West Colorado Street, near Pacific Avenue, according to the Glendale Police Department.
Upon responding to reports of gunfire, officers discovered the victim lying in a space between the strip mall and another business, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Paramedics transported him to a hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries. Authorities have not yet released the victim’s identity.
Suspect Arrested in Los Angeles
Later that evening, at approximately 10:20 p.m., Glendale police announced that a suspect had been arrested in Los Angeles. Officials did not provide details regarding the individual’s identity or motive but assured the public that the incident appeared to be isolated, posing no further threat to the community.
Case to Be Presented to DA’s Office
The case is expected to be forwarded to the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office next week for further investigation and potential charges.
