GLENDALE, Calif. – A man was fatally shot near a Glendale strip mall on Saturday afternoon, with police swiftly taking a suspect into custody later that night.

The shooting took place around 3 p.m. in the 500 block of West Colorado Street, near Pacific Avenue, according to the Glendale Police Department.
Upon responding to reports of gunfire, officers discovered the victim lying in a space between the strip mall and another business, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Paramedics transported him to a hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries. Authorities have not yet released the victim’s identity.
