GLENDALE, Calif. — A small brush fire broke out Sunday night on a hillside near the 2 Freeway in Glendale, leading to a swift response from firefighters and temporary lane closures.

Dubbed the Mountain Fire, the blaze was reported shortly before 7:30 p.m. near East Mountain Street, just south of Glendale Community College.
